Born on October 16, 1875, Princess Victoria Ka`iulani was educated to become the future Queen of Hawai’i. Tragically, she was never to fulfill this role due to the overthrow of the Hawaiian Islands in 1893. At age 23, this beloved princess dies of rheumatism which attacked her already weakened heart in 1898 just seven months after the annexation of Hawai’i to the United States.
